Scrapstore scheme

The Scrapstore provides a wide range of donated arts and craft materials that can be used in creative activities.

The Scrapstore will be closed during the summer holidays, except for pre-arranged appointments.

How to join

To join is easy, just apply online.

Membership is available to:

  • School and colleges
  • Full daycare providers
  • Childminders/individuals
  • Playgroups/sessional providers
  • Students
  • Uniform groups (such as brownies or scouts) and charitable groups
  • Out of school clubs/ holiday playschemes

The scrapstore is for residents and organisations within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the surrounding boroughs - if you would like to find your nearest scrapstore please visit the Scrapstores UK website.

Opening hours and contact details

Friday from 2pm to 4pm for drop-in visits, last visit 3.45pm to allow time to rummage. Contact us in advance to check availability.

If you are unable to drop-in at this time, contact us as we can occasionally make appointments outside of this time.

How can I donate to the Scrapstore?

The Scrapstore relies on donations from local residents and businesses. We welcome all sorts of materials that could be used for creative projects including:

  • Rolls and scraps of fabric
  • Paper and card - donations required of coloured paper or card
  • Books
  • Tiles
  • Wood - donations required, small off cuts please
  • Knitting and sewing materials
  • Odds and ends (for example buttons)
  • Many more interesting bits and pieces!

To arrange to make a donation, please call 07951 485 130 (mobile). Alternatively you can take your donation to Townmead Road Reuse and Recycling Centre or call them on 020 8876 3281.
