Request for Information - LBR-FOI-00432 - First Cross Road School Street Scheme

I refer to your request for information received on 16 January 2023. Please see the information below in response to your request: -

Your Request:

First Cross Road School Street Scheme. Residents are concerned the cameras set to identify cars using the road during a restricted period are not being monitored as many cars regularly contravene the restricted period.

Our Response:

The ANPR camera for First Cross Road is monitored and contraventions are enforced. At times there may be cause to suspend a School Street i.e. a road closure nearby resulting in a diversion down the School Street or a damaged sign, which would prohibit enforcement. During these times signs are shut and the school is notified of the suspension and our websites updated to inform the public.

If there is an issue with the ANPR camera not sending alerts, an instruction is quickly raised with the external camera operator for its repair. If rectified within the statutory timescales, enforcement is backdated.
