Being driven

Some people find it difficult to use public transport due to a disability or mobility problem. Transport Solutions is a partnership between the London Borough of Richmond and the Richmond Voluntary Sector. It offers a number of different ways for people who would otherwise be unable to get out and about to visit shops and other local amenities.

Shopping schemesShopping can be difficult if you have a mobility problem but schemes such as the Super Shopper Bus Service can help.
TaxisTaxis are ideal for getting around when you have a disability. There are two schemes that can help - London Taxicard and Richmond Transport Vouchers.
Transport for group activitiesThere is a scheme in the borough that provides accessible vehicles for groups, with or without a driver.
Transport for London schemesTransport for London operates Dial-a-Ride for short trips and a mentoring service providing travel advice and personal assistance for your first few trips if you have a disability.
Other transport schemesThere's help in the borough to get to Day Centres, Social Clubs and hospital and other appointments if you can't use public transport and have no-one to assist you.
