In 2022, we carried out a consultation in this area. This was in connection with the development and subsequent opening of a new Lidl store and a new school, the Deer Park School, at the old Ryde House site in Richmond Road and their possible impact on traffic and parking conditions.

This informal consultation followed a similar one undertaken in 2019 before the store and school were open.

Following these consultations, the decision was made to retain the existing CPZ's operational hours/days. The decision was also made to and to add Beresford Avenue and the uncontrolled section of Park Road to the zone, subject to the advertisement of traffic management orders and the consideration of representations received.

Proposed Zone F extension to Beresford Avenue and Park Road

The advertisement of traffic management orders proposing the extension of Zone F to Beresford Avenue and the remaining uncontrolled part of Park Road ended on Friday 19 May 2023.

All representations received to the advertisement were considered and the decision made to implement the extension.

Implementation

The extension of Zone F to Beresford Avenue and the remaining uncontrolled part of Park Road will come into operation on Monday 18 September 2023.

In the existing CPZ area, we have been carrying out improvements to the signage and line markings. In the coming months, we expect to advertise traffic management orders to make a number of minor operational amendments to the existing Zone F area. We will be writing to all properties nearer the time to provide details of these amendments changes. Amendments will include new parking bays and new double yellow lines.
