The Statement of Principles under the Gambling Act 2005 outlines the approach that the licensing authority proposes to apply in exercising its functions under the Act. The Committee will consider for recommended adoption by full Council a post consultation version of the Statement of Principles, appendix ‘A’.

RESOLVED that:

1.                  the no casino resolution be re endorsed andrecommended for adoption by full Council on 1 December 2009;

2.                  authority be delegated to the Head of Licensing, in consultation with the Chair of the Committee, to approve any minor amendments to the Statement of Principles following the Committee meeting and prior to submission to Council for adoption on 1 December 2009; and

3.                  the Statement of Principles be approved subject to resolution 2 above and recommended for adoption by full Council on 1 December 2009.
