Release Date: 20 September 2017
Following previous consultation, Richmond Council and Friends of Suffolk Road Recreation are now seeking views on proposed improvements to the park.
Part of the proposed improvements will see a new children’s play area created which will have a mixture of natural and traditional play and will include a small sandpit. It is proposed that a new dog free area will be created along the right hand side of the park as you enter from Suffolk Road.
The Council is also looking to plant new shrubs, trees and a wildflower meadow, as well as install additional seating throughout the recreation ground.
Cllr Pamela Fleming, Cabinet Member for Environment, Business and Community said:
“The borough’s parks are the envy of the country and we are always looking at ways to improve the experience our residents have when visiting them.
“Under the proposals Suffolk Road Rec will be able to offer something for everyone to enjoy.
“If you use the park and would like to have a say on its future development this is a great opportunity do so.”
The consultation runs until 10 October 2017.
