Release Date: 20 September 2017
A series of free personal training sessions will take place at the outdoor fitness gym at Palewell Common in East Sheen next week.
The sessions aim to introduce people to exercise equipment, show them how to safely use the gym and encourage residents to use equipment as part of a regular exercise routine.
We would like to encourage older users to take part in these sessions and we have been liaising with Age UK and the Friends of Palewell Common to promote them.
A maximum of 12 places are available at each session. Availability is on a first come, first served basis and it is recommended that you register your interest beforehand. The sessions will take place on:
If you would like to register your interest in one of these sessions, please contact Kapil Lakhani: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cllr Pamela Fleming, Cabinet Member for Environment, Business and Community said:
“This is another great chance to take advantage of the continuing good weather and get active in one of our beautiful parks.
“Whilst we have some of the fittest and healthiest residents in the country there are some of us who may be put off exercising because they aren’t familiar with the equipment or know the best techniques to improve their fitness.
“That’s why these sessions are so popular. They give people a chance to come along with their friends and family and get a taste for exercising in the fresh air.”
