Arty afternoon club opens for new members

Release Date: 13 September 2017

An after school club for artistic children and young people will shortly open for the autumn term at Orleans House Gallery.

The club runs on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday during term-time for children aged 5 to 15 years. The exciting weekly workshops offer budding young artists the opportunity to explore a broad range of artistic media and work alongside professional artists.

Each term brings a varied selection of projects which are explored in group sizes of no more than sixteen, allowing participants to try more messy and adventurous media than may be possible at school.

The next Art Club begins on Monday 18 September. Booking in advance is essential.

Cllr David Linnette, Richmond Council Cabinet Member for Culture, Sport and the Voluntary Sector, said:

“This club is a great way for children to be able to express their creativity, work alongside professional artists, in an inspiring setting.

“Previous Art Clubs have gone on to display their masterpieces in mini exhibitions and I look forward to seeing the new creations later this autumn.”
