Twickenham Stadium full of life in last week’s fair for older residents

Twickenham Stadium was full of life on Friday with over 1,700 people enjoying a day of activities, socialising and information put on by over 80 stalls from organisations such as Richmond Furniture Scheme, Embracing Age, Careline and the Richmond Card.

Attendees were able to take part in a range of activities including Bollywood dancing and craft-works as well as a get tips and advice about their health, using digital devices, or the various social groups available to them around the borough. A free café was also provided for a bit of socialising over tea and biscuits throughout the day.

Cllr David Marlow, Cabinet Member for Adult Services and Health, said:

“It was great to see so many of our older residents at the stadium, enjoying the day’s activities, getting great tips, and, most importantly, having fun along the way.

“We had more than 1,700 people attending throughout the day. Clearly the event remains as popular as ever! If you missed out this year, be sure to keep an eye out for next year’s edition.”
