New open exhibition set to light up winter

Release Date: 07 November 2017

A new open exhibition is set to light up winter with 37 local and national contemporary artists coming together to explore the theme of light at the Riverside Gallery in the Old Town Hall, Richmond.

Light has been used as a theme in artists’ work dating back centuries. This exhibition sees artists working in a variety of media and styles using light as the central subject or theme in the work they will be displaying.

The event is part of Orleans House Gallery’s programme of themed open exhibitions which are run throughout the year at Orleans House Gallery, Stables Gallery and the Riverside Gallery.

Cllr David Linnette, Cabinet member for Culture, Sport and the Voluntary Sector said:

“This is another fantastic open exhibition for local art lovers to enjoy.

“The Council’s Arts team work really hard to bring such a high calibre of locally and nationally based artists to participate in high quality group exhibitions so I hope you can come along and support the exhibition.”

The exhibition runs from Saturday 25 November to Saturday 13 January.
