The Care Act - local implementation

The Department of Health have produced a range of supporting materials, in partnership with the Local Government Association and the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services.

These may be useful for anyone commissioning, or providing care and support services.

Structure in Richmond

The Care Act will mark a significant change in how Adult Social Care is delivered. We have taken the decision locally to split the work into six project areas, set out in the governance structure below.

Work is currently underway to plann and begin to implement the changes. Non-funding aspects of the Act will be implemented by April 2015. Funding aspects of the Act will be implemented by April 2016.

Skills for Care learning materials

Skills for Care have produced a range of learning materials, split into topic areas which cover all of the key parts of the Act. They have also included a user guide and a glossary of terms.

These materials can be used to help all those involved in implementing the Care Act in their local area.
