Release Date: 15/02/2017

Keen artists can pick up a brush or pencil and take part in a series of courses this spring at Orleans House Gallery.

As part of their 2017 programme, three courses have been scheduled, looking at historical art, life drawing and creative writing.

Workshops include:

Great Masters of Landscape Painting: Tuesdays from 1 to 2.30pm. £60 for the full series online or £15 drop-in. These sessions are delivered in partnership with Mariska Beekenkamp-Waldimiroff, Art Historical London, and will look at the art of landscape painting from its first appearance during the Golden Age of Dutch Art to Modern interpretations.

Life Drawing: Thursdays from 7 to 9.30pm. £30 per workshop, materials included. Draw from a life model under the guidance of an artist and learn simple and effective techniques to develop and enhance your drawings. All abilities welcome.

Creative Writing: Painting to Paper: Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 12 noon. £25 per workshop, materials included. Delivered in partnership with London poet Agnieszka Studzinska. Develop your creative writing and learn how to generate inspiration from poetry, gallery exhibitions and even the world around us. Beginners are welcome.

Richmond Card holders receive a 10% discount off all courses.

Cllr Meena Bond, Richmond Council Cabinet Member for Arts, said:

“Yet again, Orleans House Gallery have scheduled a fantastic programme of art courses this spring. You don’t have to be a great art master – just someone who has a keen eye and would like to develop their skills.”
