Live it up this summer

Whatever the weather, young people in Richmond upon Thames will have their pick of summer activities to keep them busy, thanks to Richmond Council’s annual guide, Live it Up.

The free guide, produced by the Council’s cultural services, is available online and in print and is packed full of the best activities the borough has on offer for young people this summer. From reading challenges and lifeguard training to local art classes, community events and more. The local leisure centres and sporting venues will also be offering a full programme of ‘Olympic’ and ‘Paralympic’ inspired events, so young residents will have a chance to take part in the ‘summer of sport’.

Cllr Pamela Fleming, Strategic Cabinet Member for Community, Business and Culture on Richmond Council, said:

“Young people are spoilt for choice this summer. There are so many activities available for our younger residents and their families. Whether you want play sport at a leisure centre, join a youth club or get creative in the local art scene there’s something for everyone.”

The summer activities programme is designed for children and young people aged between 1 and 16 years, and include events suitable for people of all abilities. There are also a number of activities suitable for the whole family.
