Using the gallery’s exhibitions as inspiration, workshops can range from creative writing to photography - something for everyone!

These sessions are aimed at both beginners and experienced artists.

Materiality in Japanese Art: Tradition & Innovation

Delivered in partnership with Dr Akiko Yano, Mitsubishi Corporation Curator (Japanese Collection) at the British Museum.

Reflecting on current exhibition Lose Your Mind, Dr Akiko Yano will consider the materiality of traditional Japanese art, before moving on to the continuity and innovation observed in contemporary forms.

Mark Making

Creative Writing

Develop your creative writing and learn how to generate inspiration from poetry, gallery exhibitions and even the world around us.

Sessions will focus on developing a creative dialogue between the writer and the art work, based on a series of writing exercises and responses to the exhibition.

London poet, Agnieszka Studzinska has an MA in Creative Writing from the UEA, and is currently working towards her PhD at Royal Holloway. Her first debut collection, Snow Calling was shortlisted for the London New Poetry Award 2010. Beginners of all abilities are welcome.
