FitPoint
A stimulating unit designed for both young and old to test their strength and exercise their bodies. The unit comprises a rowing machine, twisting, bench lift, push-up, pull-up and step-up aids.
There are two permanent FitPoints in the Borough:
- Kneller Gardens, Meadway, Twickenham
- Hatherop Park, Broad Lane, Hampton
There are two temporary FitPoints undergoing trial in the Boroughs various parks and open spaces. Please check the Latest Parks Information pages for more information on where these are currently located.
Outdoor Fitness Equipment in Ham
New outdoor fitness equipment has been installed on Ham Village Green. The equipment consists of a Body Twist, Cross Rider, Chest Press, Double Air Walker, Sit Up Benches, Rowing Machine and Skier.
Sport Point
The Sport Point is a collection of exercise equipment for use outdoors. The nine-piece gym includes a bench press, pectoral press, T-bar, leg press, abdominal curl bench and a pull up bar.
It is designed for youth, adult and senior workouts. A permanent Sport Point has been installed in Castlenau Recreation Ground. For more information contact parks@richmond.gov.uk or call 08456 122 660.
Fitness Activity Groups
Active Healthy Mind
Currently operating out of Barnes Green and Marble Hill (incorporating Cambridge Gardens, Thames Towpath & Orleans Gardens), Active Healthy Mind (AHM) provides a 45 minute 'Low Impact Cardio' exercise for those wishing to lose weight, get back to exercise or to alleviate an illness such as diabetes or asthma.

Buggyfit
Currently operating out of various parks across the borough each Buggyfit is approximately one hour long and consists of cardio-vascular work (power walking with your buggy), which is designed to raise heart-rates and burn calories whilst being low impact.
This is combined with strength and toning exercises for those who have been given the all clear to exercise by their GP. The whole class is designed with safety in mind to promote a sense of well-being in new mums, while socialising and being accessible as babies come too.

Urban Fitness Training - Old Deer Park
Who are we? We are all fitness professionals with over ten years experience within the fitness industry bringing a new concept to outdoor training.
What we are about? Outbound and beyond is focus of our outdoor training programme. Our aim is to get the best out of your ability and not take you on regimented marine drills. We use our expertise within our fitness profession to provide programmes that challenge the body whilst being fun and achievable. We provide training for all individuals whether you are a regular participant of physical activity or if you’re looking to get your body fit and healthy. We use variety of exercises combining both resistance and cardiovascular training to make sure you are able to get your body working hard, burning calories and toning up!
Who can take part? Anyone and everyone. We have people training from the old to young. As our training is using simple cardio methods as well as body resistant training it is suitable for anybody who is capable and wants to get results. We provide alternative exercises for those who may have injuries or who do not feel as confident, and give the support and feedback necessary to make sure the exercises you perform are correct and efficient to get the best possible workout, whilst preventing any injuries occurring to you.
Where and When? Our outdoor sessions take place at Old Deer Park, Richmond, TW9 2SF (Off the A316), and our meeting point within the park will be wherever you see our company flag positioned. The meeting point for our sessions will vary from week to week, so be sure to look for the flag! We recommend that you arrive to the park 15 minutes before the session start time so you can locate the session meeting point and liaise with your instructors.

One Element Training in the Park
Group outdoor fitness on Twickenham Green led by qualified, experienced and friendly coaches. We offer unique training programme with sessions which follow different themes each week, such as Cardio, Boxing, Rugby, Lactic which is guaranteed to get you fitter very quickly. This training is suitable for everyone, whether already very fit or looking to return to exercise or lose weight after a long break. It is also very sociable.
Training in the Park runs on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7.30pm and Saturdays at 9.00am. Your first sessions is free! Membership is £30 per month for one session per week or £40 per month for unlimited sessions.

Parkrun - Old Deer Park
On August 21 a weekly, free, timed 5km walk, jog or run was launched in Old Deer Park. Whether you are interested in taking part as an established runner, wannabe runner or simply to improve your health and fitness, then parkrun is for you. There is no joining fee or costs invovled; all we ask is that you register in advance by visiting www.parkrun.org.uk/register.aspx. The run will take place every Saturday at 9am so come along and enjoy!

Run In England
Local Running Group For Complete Beginners! Join a fun social running group that caters for all abilities of runner. Sessions are part of the Run in England initiative which has been set up to get people 'running together'.
Sessions take place on Mondays at 9:15am in Hampton Common. Meeting point is at the Tangley Park Road end (TW12 3LT).

Rumble in the Park
Rumble in the Park is an outdoor boot camp structured around boxing for fitness and functional training. Our training system is designed to turn your body into a fat burning machine and perhaps get you in the best shape of your life. The boot camp provides an incredible variety of exercises to keep you motivated and challenged all year round.
