Jubilee party deadline extended

Due to a high demand for street parties in Richmond upon Thames to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Council is extending the application deadline until Friday 25 May, to accommodate any last minute requests.

Cllr Pamela Fleming, Richmond Council’s Strategic Cabinet member for Communities, Business and Culture, said:

“We have had over 220 street party applications in the borough so far, more than double the amount for the Royal Wedding, and we are fast becoming the borough with the most parties celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee in London. This just goes to show the incredible community spirit we have in Richmond.

We decided to extend the deadline as there has been such a positive response from residents around the Jubilee celebrations. I would like to encourage anyone who is still keen to get involved in the festivities, by holding a street party, to contact the Council or go online before 25 May, the process couldn’t be easier.”

Residents who want to join the celebrations and host their own street party can find the application details on our Street parties page.

If you need any extra help with your application, please call the Council on 0845 6122 660.
