Youth Commissioning Panel - Grants 2012/13
The Youth Commissioning Panel (YCP), with grant funding made available by the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, aims to fund projects that young people want or need. The panel consists of young decision makers from across the borough from a variety of different groups and backgrounds that make decisions on the proposed projects, supported by professional practitioners.
The grant is available to youth groups that deliver services to young people from 11-19 and up to 24 with disabilities.
The priorities this year will be:
- Girls and young women’s work
- Wellbeing and mental health
- Participation and engagement
- Tackling risky behaviour and hidden harm
- Increasing young people’s participation in education, employment and training

Quality assurance
Officers and young people will visit successful projects during the length of the contract to review how the grant has been spent and measure the successes against the agreed SLA.
Transparency
The Youth Commissioning Panel is open to encouraging non-service users (young people who don’t use Council youth services) to become involved and support the commissioning process.
We would also encourage practitioners from outside of the Council youth services to support the facilitation of delivery at decision days, subject to appropriate safeguarding checks.
