School awards

If you'd like your school to gain recognition for its environmental work, national accreditation and various awards are available.

Eco-Schools

Participating in the Eco-Schools programme helps you to work towards becoming a more sustainable school by using a simple framework including actions such as setting up green teams. Find out which schools in the borough have already earned awards and how your school can work towards one too!

Sustainable Learning

Sustainable Learning is a structured approach to managing energy and water use in schools and is a joint initiative between DCSF, BRE (Building Research Establishment) and CREATE (Centre for Research, Education and Training in Energy). There are three levels of accreditation which are compatible with Eco-Schools so any work carried out around energy and water can be applied to both programmes.

Green Guardian Awards

The Richmond upon Thames Green Guardian Awards 2008 winners have been announced! Celebrating the environmental efforts of people, schools, organisations and businesses across southwest London, we had some fantastic entries showing great examples of environmental achievement in the borough. Well done to all entrants and congratulations to our winners.
