Looking after myself

We know how important it is for you to maintain high personal standards. That is why there are a number of services to help you look after yourself, maintain your quality of life and live independently in your own home.

  • Equipment to help you live at homeIf you have problems bathing, washing or dressing, there is a range of specially designed equipment to help make looking after yourself simpler.
  • Someone to help you look after yourselfIf you are finding it increasingly difficult to wash or dress yourself, even using equipment, we may be able to arrange for someone to come into your home to help you.
  • Self Directed SupportA new way of providing social care that gives you more control over the support you receive.
  • Specialist day care centres and Council run day centresDay care is a popular service offered to people who need some help with personal or practical care and are unable to get out and about by themselves.
  • Taking MedicationIf prescribed medication is forgotten and not taken, or taken in the wrong dosage, it could put your health at risk.
  • IncontinenceIf you have needs related to incontinence it can affect your quality of life, but help is available.
