The Your Life Expo, which is being held at St Mary’s University College in Twickenham, has been organised by the Richmond Council and the Local Learning Disability Partnership Board. The aim of the event is to provide information about what is going on locally and how people with a learning disability can find the right support to live full and exciting lives. The event is also open to carers, friends and family.

Cllr Nicola Urquhart, Cabinet Member for Adult Services, Health and Housing said, “This event will be very valuable for local people as it will give them a chance to meet new people, take part in fun sports taster sessions and workshops and ensure they have all the information they need to live a full, happy and healthy life. I would like to encourage people with a learning disability and their friends and carers to attend this event to have fun and find out about the local opportunities available to them.

”As an administration we are very keen to ensure those who have a learning disability are not restricted in their lives. We want to be able to provide the support and information they need to live their lives to the fullest.”

The Expo will include stalls and advice from Special Olympics Richmond, a range of voluntary sector organisations and local support providers on employment, volunteering, keeping well, leisure, drama, arts, further education and much more.

The event will run from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, 23 June. For more information please contact Catharine Tyrrell on 020 8487 5379
