London Youth Games 2013

London Youth Games 2013 is well under way with Cross Country and Cricket competitions now complete. Most of the trials have now been finalised and you can view a list of the confirmed trials(pdf, 58KB). The list will be updated as soon as trials have been finalised.

Cross Country 2013

‘TEAM RICHMOND’ ARE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONS ONCE AGAIN!

Team Richmond launched the new Balfour Beatty London Youth Games season in style on Saturday 17 November by winning the Cross Country event for the third year in a row. Team Richmond won the boys’ team event and placed third overall in the girls’ competition in a highly satisfying day’s competition for the borough at Parliament Hill, Hampstead Heath.

Over 1,100 runners from the thirty three London Boroughs took part in the event which is the first event of the 2013 London Youth Games campaign.

Richmond enjoyed individual success with Josie Savill, who won silver in the girls’ under 17 race and Calvin Chapman who won bronze in the boys’ under 15 race.

As well as individual success with thirteen of the boroughs youngsters recording top 20 finishes there were fantastic team results with all teams recording top 4 finishes.

Team results were as follows:

Boys

• Under-13 Boys: 4th
• Under-15 Boys: 1st
• Under-17 Boys: 4th

Girls

• Under-13 Girls: 4th
• Under-15 Girls: 3rd
• Under-17 Girls: 4th

Team GB Olympic marathon runner Scott Overall, who represented Richmond at the London Youth Games in his early years presented the prizes.Congratulations to all the Team Richmond Cross Country runners!
