1.The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames on the 29 May 2012 made the above Order under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2.The general effect of the order is to facilitate the holding of 208 street parties in the borough in respect of which a notice was published on 25 May 2012 and, in addition, 7 further street parties in the following roads: Argyle Avenue Hounslow, Milton Road East Sheen, Taylor Avenue Kew, Cotswold Road Hampton, Heathfield North, Twickenham, Woodbine Close, Twickenham and The Garth, Hampton Hill. These are to allow residents to celebrate the diamond jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second.
3.The roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic as described in the schedules to the order. During the times described in the schedule, no vehicle will be permitted to enter, proceed or wait in the specified part of each road.
4.Nothing in the order will apply to:
(a)anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a traffic warden; or
(b)any vehicle being used by an emergency service, whereby it is necessary by reason of an emergency, for that vehicle to have access to part of the street under restriction.
5.Copies of the Order:-
(a)can be inspected until 25 June 2012 at the Civic Centre (Central Reception, ground floor), 44 York Street, Twickenham between 9.15am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays, except for Bank and other public holidays; and
(b)may be viewed on the Council’s web-site at http://www.richmond.gov.uk/public_notices.htm
6.The prohibitions or restrictions specified in this notice will apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002.
7.Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
8.This notice is supplementary to that given on 25 May and all the streets affected by road closures are included in the above mentioned order. A summary of the total number of road closures is given in the schedule below.
