ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 16A

Portugal Gardens, Twickenham - Street party (Reference 5256/2012)

Saturday 1 September 2012

1.The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames on the 10 August 2012 made the above Order under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2.The general effect of this Order is to facilitate the holding of a street party in Portugal Gardens, Twickenham.

3.The turning circle of Portugal Gardens will be closed on Saturday 1 September between 12.00pm and 9.00pm.  During these times no vehicle will be permitted to enter, proceed or wait in the road.

4.Nothing in the order will apply to:

(a)anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a traffic warden; or

(b)any vehicle being used by an emergency service, whereby it is necessary by reason of an emergency, for that vehicle to have access to part of the street under restriction.

5.Copies of the Order:-

(a)can be inspected for a period of 6 weeks, quoting Reference 5256/2012, at the Civic Centre (Central Reception, ground floor), 44 York Street, Twickenham between 9.15am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays, except for Bank and other public holidays; and

(b)may be viewed on the Council’s web-site at http://www.richmond.gov.uk/public_notices.htm

6.The prohibitions or restrictions specified in this notice will apply only during such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002.

7.Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
