Explore the golden age of British comedy this May

On Friday 17 May 2024 at 7pm, Kew Society is hosting an illustrated talk ‘A Bit of a Carry On’ at The National Archives in Kew (TW9 4DU).

Delivered by ‘Darling Buds of May’ actor Tyler Butterworth, the event features the untold story of his much-loved parents, the nation’s first female TV impressionist Janet Brown, and the inimitable star of the ‘Carry On’ films Peter Butterworth.

The show will explore the golden age of British TV and film comedy, taking audiences from heroic wartime escapades at POW camp Stalag Luft 111 to a night at Chequers with Mrs. Thatcher.
